§ 3 StVG Withdrawal of driving licence
If someone proves to be unsuitable or unfit to drive a motor vehicle, the driving licence authority must revoke his or her driving licence.
The eye test is mandatory and must be presented before the start of training.
Learner drivers in driving licence classes A, A1, A2, AM, B, BE, B96, L or T require proof of a passed official eye test for the driving licence application. (§12 FeV)
For an eye test in classes C and D, you need an ophthalmological examination.
Documents required for the driving licence eye test:
Identity card or passport (official photo document)

Our sense of hearing makes it possible to see around corners. This way you can guess what is going on. If you can’t hear your surroundings because your car radio or headphones are turned up very high, you endanger yourself and others.
Any person who, as a result of physical or mental deficiencies, is unable to drive safely on the road may only participate in traffic if precautions have been taken to ensure that he or she does not endanger others.
Writing mails at the wheel
Reading and writing SMS or other form of mail is prohibited while driving.
Navigation device
Operating a navigation device while driving requires the highest level of concentration; it is no longer possible to concentrate 100% on the road.
Hands-free kit
Only with a hands-free device or headset is it permitted to make phone calls while driving.
